Huck soars, John falls

As I watched the final Republican debate before Super Tuesday I noticed two things.

Mike Huckabee talked sense. He talked to the people. Although, Anderson Cooper didn’t give him much time, he made the most of what he received.
John McCain was boring. He was dull. I started falling asleep.

Mike Huckabee

Tonight, John McCain made it clear that if he receives the Republican nomination, either Barack Obama or Hilary Clinton will slap him silly. That would be easy to do, all you have to do is talk faster than paint can dry, something McCain isn’t able to do.

Meanwhile, Mike Huckabee was very strong when he was allowed to speak. Huckabee hit the …

Women vote on issues, not sex

Senator Hillary ClintonFollowing the media’s take on women in the upcoming election they seem to be writing them off as Hillary Clinton supporters. I personally have not witnessed droves of women who will vote for Hillary Clinton just because she is a woman. cheetah.jpgThe Issue: The New York Times had an interesting article about an amputee from South Africa whose attempting to qualify for the Olympics. Oscar Pistorius is a double amputee who had his lower leg removed as an infant. He has been training on what are known as Cheetahs, essentially carbon based blades shaped in a J that can function as well as normal legs in terms of the sprint. The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), which is the governing organization over competitive track and field recently ruled that Mr. Pistorius would have an “unfair advantage” as they claim his Cheetahs were more energy efficient than actual human legs. …

Ron Paul’s Porky Situation

Picture 211Let me start this post by saying I hate pork projects. I hate them with a passion. I’d go as far as putting the line item veto in place to stop all those meaty projects. That’s why I have a problem with Ron Paul saying he never votes for pork.

Ron Paul touts himself as a fiscal conservative. No doubt he is, but he goes to the extreme of condemning all spending that isn’t in direct correlation with The Constitution. Ron Paul seems to be posting himself as the poster boy for the anti-Pork proponents. Surely, he would be my candidate. But Paul cannot escape his own statement unscathed.

A …
