It was Tuesday afternoon and I was romping down Lima Road in my Chevy Suburban with The Dave Ramsey Show at full blast when it hit me. I was going to see the former president of the United States of America. Not the mayor, not a councilman, but the actual president.
As I rolled past the Grand Wayne Center, the line had not yet crept outside the door, but by the time I finally got in line at 4:40pm, we were about 20 feet outside the Grand Wayne Center.

I spent this past evening at the Bill Clinton Speech down at the Grand Wayne Center. My full reaction will be forthcoming. Clinton spoke with great poise and charisma. Although, I didn’t agree with much of what he was saying - he was an amazing speaker and I really enjoyed the event.

As this is a day of celebration (after all, it should be with a saint with such a saintly name) presidential candidates have provided festive apparel bearing their names for purchase on their website (and most likely at their events). Barack Obama’s website sports a t-shirt and button with the Irish trappings that define such a day as this. John McCain’s website includes multiple buttons, T-shirts and mugs with not just green and shamrock but also some that say “Irish for McCain”.
Senator Clinton’s website does not include any festive gear.

As delegate counting has become the new rage in national Democratic conversation, the idea of looking at how ‘superdelegates’ vote is not something relegated to the political junkies. It is darn near impossible for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama to secure the nomination without them so they now become incredibly important in deciding which Dem will square off against McCain this fall.
For those of you who don’t know, ‘superdelegate’ is an informal term for a delegate to the Democratic National Convention not directly chosen through a primary or caucus. They are party officials as well as current and former elected officeholders.
