Huck soars, John falls

As I watched the final Republican debate before Super Tuesday I noticed two things.

  1. Mike Huckabee talked sense. He talked to the people. Although, Anderson Cooper didn’t give him much time, he made the most of what he received.
  2. John McCain was boring. He was dull. I started falling asleep.

Mike Huckabee

Tonight, John McCain made it clear that if he receives the Republican nomination, either Barack Obama or Hilary Clinton will slap him silly. That would be easy to do, all you have to do is talk faster than paint can dry, something McCain isn’t able to do.

Meanwhile, Mike Huckabee was very strong when he was allowed to speak. Huckabee hit the nail on the head when he told the truth stating that our country is not better off than we were 8 years ago. I’m a Republican through and through, but I how can anyone possibly say George Bush has done a good job?

The straight shooting talk will be the riding point of Huckabee’s campaign over the next few days. It will be important for his campaign to get the message out. Super Tuesday is do or die day for him (to a much larger extent than say, Mitt or John).

Ron Paul made the best point of the night stating that time doesn’t need to be spent bickering over technicalities on issues that both candidates agree upon.

The debate was lively when John McCain wasn’t speaking. I hope to the ends of my Republican heart that John McCain can, by some miracle, fade. I would love for Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee to be involved in a race for the Republican nomination. That would allow for a deep and excellent examination of the issues.

In closing, I must admit one thing. I am a stout Mike Huckabee supporter. I am concerned for his future. He must pull out victories soon or “the ball-game” will be over. I now know it will be a very big struggle for me to vote for John. I’m not sure I will be able to do it.

John was bad. Really bad.

  • Romney isn’t that much better than McCain. Huckabee would be way better off running with Ron Paul because Paul is the only candidate who fully understands economics. Paul could help Huckabee appeal to economic conservatives if they ran together.

Huck already supports eliminating the income tax, so who knows, maybe Paul could convince him that we really don’t need a sales tax either if we were to cut spending.

  • @therooster:

We’ll always have to pay taxes. People can’t control their spending.

Ron Paul is exactly right though. We don’t technically NEED an income tax.

However, I don’t think Paul conveys the type of leadership that we need in this country. He is essentially shunned by Congress. Nobody likes Ron Paul.

Second, on the subject of Mitt Romney. He is a little too much of a politician for me, but honestly the man has been so successful. He really did a great job with education and he actually solved a healthcare problem. I’m not sure if he did it in the best possible manner, but guess what, he got it done.

  • Hahahahaa great stuff! Huckabee all the way!

By the way did you catch Mccain’s statement when he said “April was an interesting year”? If not google it, it was epic that night.

Great stuff bro! Keep up the good work
