This is former Defense Secretary Dick Cheney who served under President George H.W. Bush during the Gulf War. In this video from 1994, Mr. Cheney provides his analysis of what would happen (hypothetically) if the US actually overthrew Saddam Hussein.

Who cares? We went in, and we’re doing marvelously. He may have had valid points, but we’ve addressed them and Iraq is not heading for a civil war – the US will be vindicated in the annals of history for this war.

Interesting that he didn’t think of these same problems when we took Saddam out this time around. I hope that as VP he doesn’t believe his own lies and then is willing to sacrifice American soldiers because of that.
So the real question becomes, if there were no WMDs and he predicted the current situation in 2004, then why did we go into Iraq and why didn’t we send more troops in the beginning?
