Women vote on issues, not sex

Senator Hillary ClintonFollowing the media’s take on women in the upcoming election they seem to be writing them off as Hillary Clinton supporters. I personally have not witnessed droves of women who will vote for Hillary Clinton just because she is a woman. Do these “political strategists” seriously believe that women will only vote for a woman candidate.

Just because Hillary has a chance at being the first female president doesn’t particularly mean that those who share her female status will run to the polls all prissy and pretty in their purple dresses and vote for her.

Not trying to be all preachy here, but women think too. They make informed political decisions. While there will certainly be the occasional voter who will turn to Hillary just because she is a female, I feel this will be the exception. Polls have proved that in certain states Hillary has struggled to win the female vote. Although pollsters haven’t been the most reliable source of information, we can at least see that females are looking at the issues.

CNN needs to pull its head out from the mud and start looking at all the data it collects. Females can think for themselves.

The same goes for African-Americans. Just because Barack Obama is a black man doesn’t mean all the blacks will vote for him.

One of the greatest strengths of America is that we have the ability to choose the candidate whose stances on issues match best with our own, not their physical characteristics.

So lets go media, look at the data and think about who you are talking about before writing both females and blacks off.

They can think!
