With Obama dragging out his selection process for at least few more weeks, we’ve still got plenty of time to speculate about the myriad of potential candidates, but recently Indiana Senator Evan Bayh has been thrust into the spotlight as a likely choice for the VP nominations. Add to the fact that John Edwards is essentially out of the picture with his recent spectacle, Bayh has all the more chance of landing the job.

As delegate counting has become the new rage in national Democratic conversation, the idea of looking at how ësuperdelegatesí vote is not something relegated to the political junkies. It is darn near impossible for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama to secure the nomination without them so they now become incredibly important in deciding which Dem will square off against McCain this fall.
For those of you who donít know, ësuperdelegateí is an informal term for a delegate to the Democratic National Convention not directly chosen through a primary or caucus. They are party officials as well as current and former elected officeholders.

Indiana hasn’t gone to a Democrat since Johnson in 1964. It hasn’t mattered in candidate selection in past presidential years because of the date of its primary. But we all know 2008 is unlike any past presidential election year in modern times.

After spending a year or two reading and commenting on various blogs, I am thrilled to finally be co-editing one.

I am a junior at Wabash College, with a major in Political Science and minors in History and Theatre. As you can probably see from my major and minors, political discussion is one of my passions. Wabash is a fantastic place to discuss political views of all types, as there are some people to the left of Eugene V. Debs and to the right of Otto von Bismarck.
