My Presidential Struggle

As many of you know I define myself a a Moderate Republican focusing on low taxes (especially corporate & capital gains). Tax & Economic Policy are the chief issues for me, and I share that belief with many of my fellow Americans.

This election is posing a problem for me that goes beyond issues and rhetoric. I have yet to decide upon a candidate, I’m struggling internally and I haven’t found the answer just yet.

If I take a straight take on issues I probably agree with John McCain more than Senator Obama. But taking an honest look at both men, they’ll both do a fine job. Neither one is going to ruin America, we’ll be fine no matter who is elected.

My …

The Convention: Part 1

As I type this Barack Obama has walked on stage and is giving his acceptance speech. All I can think of right now “I wish I was at Invesco Field.”

That however, was impossible. I couldn’t start school, help put out the first issue of the Bachelor, my school paper and attend the convention at the same time (although I most definitely would if I could).
So I’m settling for the next best thing. Tomorrow I will be driving ten hours to Minneapolis-Saint Paul for the Republican National Convention. I’ll be working for NBC as a “runner.” Although there really wasn’t …

The Trouble with Joe Biden

Lacking Experience?

No! Not Joe Biden, he’s got more experience than math has numbers. It’s his running mate, who even he has expressed concerns about.

Joe Biden has been on record stating that Barack Obama doesn’t have the experience necessary to become the President. With his most recent ad John McCain clearly will begin to make this a focal point of the campaign. Obama is going to have to work unbelievably hard to dispel this belief that apparently even his running mate agreed with McCain on this one.

Now one could argue that Biden made the statement trying to defeat Obama in a heated primary, that’s certainly true…but he still made the …

The Obama Marketing Plan

America hasn’t seen a marketing machine similar to the Obama campaign for President in years (if ever), and I would be awful surprised if this well-oiled machine didn’t pull out a victory in November.

While Barack Obama is an exciting person, it is his campaigns unmatched ability to implement an excellent marketing strategy that revolves around creating energy and brand recognition.

Branding

Obama has rolled out the most comprehensive branding strategy of any presidential candidate ever, find me someone who has done a better job and I’ll show you how Obama tops it. No candidate has ever put out a stronger message to America through slogans, logos, websites, and literature.

The branding …

NY Times rejects McCain attack on Obama

John McCain wrote an op-ed piece that apparently defended his stance on the Iraq War and attempted to lay out his plan for Iraq. The editorial was rejected by the New York Times. At first, I was ticked that the NY Times would play bias and print only an editorial by one side, but then I discovered the real problem. After reading the editorial released by the McCain campaign, it is apparent why it was rejected in that it contains little regarding McCain’s plan.
I have said that I expect to welcome home most of our troops from Iraq by the end of my first term in office, in 2013.
Only one statement in the editoral seems to lay out …
