NY Times rejects McCain attack on Obama

John McCain wrote an op-ed piece that apparently defended his stance on the Iraq War and attempted to lay out his plan for Iraq. The editorial was rejected by the New York Times. At first, I was ticked that the NY Times would play bias and print only an editorial by one side, but then I discovered the real problem. After reading the editorial released by the McCain campaign, it is apparent why it was rejected in that it contains little regarding McCain’s plan.
I have said that I expect to welcome home most of our troops from Iraq by the end of my first term in office, in 2013.
Only one statement in the editoral seems to lay out …

McCain’s Campaign Financing Decision

Because of the fiscal juggernaut that is the Obama campaign, The NY Times recently reported that John McCain’s campaign is mapping out a campaign strategy that is closely tied with the Republican National Committee. This after his campaign finance co-chair resigned because of a conflict of interest based on new campaign rules regarding connections to lobbyists.
From the Times:

“Mr. McCain, who abandoned public financing in the primary but has indicated he would employ it in the general election, is aggressively building a joint fund-raising operation with the Republican National Committee and state party committees in four battleground states. These committees can raise money far in excess of …

I’ve decided that I can’t keep bashing the Democrat’s Universal (Socialized - you can call it whatever you like, but it is what it is) Healthcare Plan without offering up a solution of my own. Now let me start by saying that I’m open to changing this plan. In fact, I’m all for scrapping the entire plan or at least large parts of it. But this the best solution I’ve been able to come up with that continues on with the free market American way (controlled with a standardized plan, mind that) and maintains the high-quality of healthcare in this country.

I’m come up with a plan that mixed the current system with some of the elements I feel are the …

Spitzer, Wall Street and Timing the Resignation

paterson.jpgAccording to literally every national news organization in America, the Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer has been implicated in a prostitution ring. There has been speculation all day that he would resign at any minute. The NY Times reported that the state was at a standstill, not really knowing if the governor would resign. Lt. Governor David Paterson (whom I saw campaigning for Hillary Clinton at an Iowa rally back in January. He’s pictured here between Cheers actor Ted Danson and Clinton National Chair Terry McAuliffe ) even told reporters he didn’t know what the Governor’s plans were, saying that he hadn’t heard from the governor since Monday.
Many …
